Tell us a little about your business.
“Lavender Mobile Detailing specializes in cleaning the interior and exterior of cars. We take pride in what we do by adding a lavender scent to each car we detail. We also love to evoke nostalgic feelings among our customers with our vintage look that mirrors our blue-collar roots.
I began the business in February 2025, so I’m just starting to ramp up and generate revenue.”
Can you share your thoughts and key takeaways about the foundation-sponsored entrepreneurship programming you have participated in?
“I have truly loved the support and help I’ve received from the LaunchNET program. The support and consulting I’ve received from the LaunchNET staff has been instrumental to my early success and growth. It is really great to meet other like-minded people and get their opinions on situations. I’ve made many great connections through LaunchNET!”
Please tell us about any benefits, growth, or key wins you've experienced since participating in these programs.
“My monthly revenue has already doubled, and I was really excited to be awarded $1,500 by winning second place in the IdeaLabs 2025 Competition held at the Eaton Corporation headquarters.”
What has been the most unexpected challenge you've faced in growing your business, and how did you navigate it?
“I think the most unexpected challenge for me has been exercising patience. I like to see results quickly and I really push my company to do that, so when we aren’t moving as fast as I would like, it’s hard on me.”
What are your goals for the next twelve months?
“My goals for the next twelve months are:
• To hit over $12,000 in revenue for the year
• To get a fully wrapped van with equipment that will enable us to continue detailing throughout the winter
• To get 10 customers on our recurring plan”
What is your vision for your business in five years?
“I would like to be looking at $750,000 plus in annual revenue at the main location, and I want to expand to other cities in Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. I feel strongly about taking the Tommy Mello route*; right now, blue collar isn’t where it needs to be, so there is plenty of room for me and if there isn’t room, I’m going to make room.”
*For those unfamiliar with Tommy Mello, he is a prominent entrepreneur and advocate for the skilled trades. He built a multimillion-dollar home service business—A1 Garage Door Service—by modernizing operations, investing in workforce development, and showing that blue-collar industries offer serious potential for innovation and financial success. His story inspires a new generation of entrepreneurs to see opportunity in overlooked or undervalued sectors.
What is your favorite quote?
“Revenue is for vanity, profit is for sanity.”
What is the last book you read?
"I just finished How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie about a week ago and now I’m reading Leadership and Self-Deception: Getting Out of the Box by Arbinger Institute.”
What advice do you have for budding entrepreneurs?
“Resist the need to show off, and ignore what people say (especially mean customers).
See your company and be obsessed about it, and it will grow with what you put into it. Don’t get distracted, and stay the course. People will get in your way all the time.
When you don’t know something, ask and research -- you can never ask and research enough about something.
Know your goal and make little goals to achieve it every day --it is up to you to push yourself.”
How do you define success?
“Being able to walk away from the business for a month and it runs perfectly. Success is a system that should be able to run without the owner.”
