Burton D. Morgan Foundation’s 2026 Free Enterprise Speaker Series will bring together educators, students, entrepreneurs and community members this fall for a wide-ranging exploration of the ideas and principles that shape a free enterprise system.
Running from September through December, the series features programs presented in partnership with Ashland University, the Ashbrook Center, the Barker Center for Economic Education at the University of Akron, and the Foundation for Teaching Economics. Sessions will examine free enterprise from multiple perspectives, including economics, entrepreneurship, ethics, public policy, education, history and global markets.
This year’s lineup includes topics such as Moral Markets: Adam Smith and the Ethical Foundations of Free Enterprise, Free Market Capitalism 101: Foundations, From Dorm Room to Distribution: Entrepreneurship in Action, Governments & Markets: The Role of Public Policy in Free Enterprise, and Innovation, Responsibility and the Future of Free Enterprise, along with several other in-person and virtual programs.
Together, the programs are designed to encourage thoughtful discussion about how free enterprise works, the ideas and institutions that support it, and the role entrepreneurship and innovation play in creating opportunity and prosperity.
