Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Training Grants Available

Burton D. Morgan Foundation has long been a believer in the transformative power of racial equity training to help people from diverse backgrounds come together and build shared understanding of the entrenched systems that contribute to structural racism. Through the Racial & Diversity Awareness Initiative, Morgan Foundation seeks to provide grant opportunities for Northeast Ohio nonprofit organizations to participate as teams in racial equity training.

Morgan Foundation will provide grants of up to $2,000 to at least twenty-five area nonprofit organizations for diversity, equity, and inclusion training for board and staff members. Training can serve as a team’s introduction to racial equity awareness or build upon lessons learned from previous racial equity training. Current grantees will be prioritized for funding and funds will be available on a first come-first served basis.

Morgan Foundation will not prescribe which racial equity training opportunity to pursue because we believe this relationship has to be thoughtfully tailored to organizational culture and goals. We are providing the following list of providers as a place to start your exploration.

  • Racial Equity Training Institute: Groundwater and Phase I & II Training
  • Philanthropy Ohio: Putting Racism on the Table
  • Project Ujima Discussion Circles
