Deshpande Symposium Opportunities
The 10th Annual Deshpande Symposium will be held June 10-11, 2021 in a virtual format.
Cofounded by the Deshpande Foundation and the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 2012, the Deshpande Symposium on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Higher Education is a gathering of like-minded practitioners with a focus on accelerating innovation and entrepreneurship across the university and college environment.
The Symposium provides a venue for attendees to learn from each other’s experiences; to gain wider exposure for their ideas, successes and startups; and to collaborate on activities that increase innovation and entrepreneurship in their communities.
The two-day event will include panel presentations, interactive poster presentations, keynotes, workshops, an awards dinner and plenty of networking opportunities.

Submit Panel Proposals for the Symposium
The Call for Panel Proposals for the Deshpande Symposium is open. Submit panel proposals that address any of the three core areas of the Symposium:
- Entrepreneurship in the Curriculum
- University Research Commercialization and Startups
- Developing Entrepreneurial Universities, Culture & Ecosystems
Please submit your proposal abstract by February 28, 2021.

Submit Nominations for Deshpande Symposium Awards
The Deshpande Symposium Awards recognize outstanding accomplishment in areas that promote innovation and entrepreneurship on college and university campuses. The awards also celebrate individuals for their outstanding contributions to the field; those who, with their home institutions, demonstrate excellence and serve as role models for others. In addition, the Awards Committee may also recognize programs or institutions that show potential and innovation in their approaches, where appropriate, with the Rising Star Award.
The Deshpande Symposium Awards shine a spotlight of recognition on the leaders and institutions championing and supporting innovation and entrepreneurship. We encourage you to use the links below to submit your nominations. Please help us shine the spotlight on the stars and exemplars of innovation in higher education and entrepreneurship.
