Burton D. Morgan Foundation Welcomes New Program Officer

Please join us in welcoming Michal Marcus to the staff of Burton D. Morgan Foundation.  Michal begins work as a full-time Program Officer at the Foundation on October 10.

Michal will review grant proposals, formulate recommendations to the Trustees, and evaluate the impact of the Foundation’s grants.  She will also partner with grantees to build networks and develop proactive initiatives, and she will represent Morgan Foundation at convenings relevant to the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Foundation President and CEO Dan Hampu commented, “We could not be more excited to have Michal join the team.  When talking with her, it is hard not to be impressed with everything she has accomplished at HFLA of Northeast Ohio, and we know she will add great value to our work at the Foundation.”

Michal worked for HFLA of Northeast Ohio for the past 16 years in several key positions and has led the organization as Executive Director since 2014. She has been instrumental in growing the 118-year-old non-profit, increasing its interest-free loan fund from $500K to $3M and growing clientele from 50 per year to more than 105. Michal is passionate about local entrepreneurship and the economic development of Northeast Ohio.

“I am thrilled to be able to bring my experience as a nonprofit leader to Burton D. Morgan Foundation,” stated Michal.  “I know the importance of funding to the nonprofits doing the work in our region. I hope I can bring a fresh perspective to the impact that philanthropy can have in our community."

Burton D. Morgan Foundation was established in 1967 by late Hudson entrepreneur Burton D. Morgan and focuses on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education in Northeast Ohio.
