Cleveland Medical Hackathon
October 19 - 20, 2019
Global Center for Health Innovation, Cleveland
The 5th Annual Cleveland Medical Hackathon returns to the HIMSS Innovation Center this October! Students, developers, designers, investors, engineers, researchers, and community members will have the opportunity to participate in this high-energy, all-night problem solving session to help solve some of healthcare’s most pressing issues. Once again, teams will form onsite to respond to this year’s challenge, which won’t be released until the event kick-off. From there, the teams will have just under 24 hours to ideate, mock up, and begin creating their solution for Sunday morning’s presentation.
Past winning Hackathon teams have created concepts for everything from a wearable that measures pulse oximetry, single-lead ECG, and galvanic skin response for patients with cardiovascular disease, to an app to monitor new mothers through their postpartum care.
This year's Hackathon will focus on three key challenges that healthcare and the communities we live in are facing today: Clinician Burnout, Aging in Place, and Mental Health. Subject matter experts will reveal more details about the challenges during the program on October 19th.
Special recognition will be given for the best use of blockchain and the social determinants of health.
