JA Forms Statewide Partnership with Ohio Society of CPA Foundation
06/03/2010
Junior Achievement and The Ohio CPA Foundation have partnered to expand the JA Personal Finance Program beginning in the 2010 fall semester. The partnership combines the strength and reputation of Junior Achievement with the financial skills and insights of top financial professionals - Certified Public Accountants - to offer high schools quality financial literacy education!
This program can assist educators in meeting the Ohio Core legislation mandating financial literacy education effective for students beginning high school in the 2010 academic year.
JA Personal Finance (formerly called Junior Achievement Presents: The NEFE High School Financial Planning Program) introduces students to the importance of making wise financial decisions. The program demonstrates the importance of planning, goal setting, and thoughtful decision-making within the context of personal financial decisions and includes five required, volunteer-led sessions.
Local CPA's interested in volunteering should visit the Ohio Society of CPA website at http://www.ohioscpa.com/Home.aspx for more information.
Educators interested in learning more about JA's Personal Finance Program and how JA can help your high school meet the new state financial literacy education requirements should visit www.ja.org to connect with their local Ohio JA office Web site.
