Morgan Foundation December 3, 2007.Griggs will be responsible for managing the Hudson foundation’s day-to-day financial operations along with monitoring its investment profile. Morgan Foundation President Deborah Hoover said the Foundation needed a financial officer because operations have become increasingly complex in recent years due to asset growth, increased grants distribution, a larger staff and building management. “Denise brings a high level of expertise to the Foundation in the area of non-profit management and accounting,” Hoover said. “We feel very fortunate to have her join our team.” Griggs, an Akron native and graduate of the University of Texas, returned to Ohio and joined the Akron-based accounting firm in 1990 as a senior auditor. She was named president in 1999. During her tenure with Brott Mardis, Griggs, a certified public accountant, helped build the non-profit auditing section at the firm. “I am extremely pleased to be joining such a prestigious organization,” she said. “I look forward to working with Deborah Hoover and all of the staff in fulfilling Mr. Morgan’s mission of strengthening the free enterprise system.” Griggs, her husband Del, and two teenagers live in Cuyahoga Falls, where she also serves on the Income Tax Review Board. |
