At a glance . . .Lake Erie College welcomed the Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour to campus in September. This nationwide entrepreneurship tour brings the country’s top young entrepreneurs to college campuses to spread the entrepreneurial mindset. EET, which has visited 50 campuses since it was started in 2006, inspires students to write down their goals and the steps to achieve them. Participating students from Lake Erie will have a chance to keep in Web contact with the presenters and form partnerships with like-minded individuals. More than 80 business people from the Granville area recently attended the annual Business and Industry Breakfast at Denison University, hosted by President Dale Knobel. The breakfast was held in the Burton D. Morgan Center. “They just love to visit our new Morgan building,” says Lyn Boone, senior development officer for major and planning giving. SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) members from Ashland University volunteered their time in October to help with a Scholarship for Entrepreneurial Engagement presentation at Hudson High School. The focus of the SEE event was to acquaint area high school students with science and technology careers and included a business plan competition. The SIFE members worked with the different high school teams to help them brainstorm and develop business plans.
