Application Procedures
Step 1: Do We Qualify?
Review the section on ´Do We Qualify?´ to determine whether your organization and the particular programs or projects for which you are seeking funding qualify for a grant.
Step 2: Letter of Inquiry
Before submitting a full proposal, prospective applicants must first send a letter of inquiry to Deborah D. Hoover, President, The Burton D. Morgan Foundation, 22 Aurora Street, Hudson, OH 44236. The letter must include a brief description of the project, the amount of the request, and the organization´s Employer Identification Number (EIN). Please be aware of the Foundation´s Letter of Inquiry deadlines (see the left margin of this page for dates).
Step 3: Full Proposal Submission
If your Letter of Inquiry is approved, you will be invited to submit a full proposal.
Please click on the blue ´Grant Application Form´ box below and save a copy of the form to complete your proposal. Applicants must also complete a Grant Objectives Chart. Please click on the blue ´Grant Objectives Chart´ box below to download a blank copy of the chart. For assistance with the completion of your chart, you may want to click on the the blue ´Grant Objectives Chart with Examples´ box below.
Applicants may supplement the proposal with additional materials.
Full proposals should be unbound and accompanied by a cover letter that states clearly and concisely the purposes of the grant requested and the amount requested. Only one copy is required.

Proposals must be received at the Foundation offices by 5:00 p.m. according to the posted deadline schedule (see left margin on this page).
Step 5: Review Procedures
The President has full authority to review and evaluate all proposals. In most instances, however, she will assign responsibility for the review and evaluation to a program officer. At her discretion, the program officer will schedule an interview, site visit, or both with the applicant.
