The Foundation is interested in supporting organizations that assist innovative entrepreneurs with launching their ventures and building sustainability. The Foundation believes that innovative entrepreneurship draws upon creativity, involves an element of risk, and creates value. Support is awarded to charitable organizations that provide the following kinds of entrepreneurship-related services: information, incubation, networking, continuing education, access to capital, risk management, and business planning. As a private foundation, The Burton D. Morgan Foundation does not provide support directly to entrepreneurs, but rather works through 501(c)(3) support organizations. The Foundation is particularly interested in building entrepreneurial networks that foster a stronger entrepreneurial culture in Northeast Ohio. We encourage all of our grantees to work with young people and to develop meaningful linkages among entrepreneurship programs across the region. The Foundation is a member of the Fund for Our Economic Future and seeks through this collaborative to stimulate economic growth, entrepreneurship and innovation in Northeast Ohio. |
